A Cutie Patootie of an Album!!

I recently gave my craft room an overhaul (just waiting for one more unit to be made and then I will share some photos!) and I don't know about you but because I had to empty cupboards and boxes I found a lot of bits and bobs that were long, long forgotten!!

This little acrylic album was one such thing :) *cough* there are actually another 3 in acrylic and I lost count of how many chipboard ones there are!! On the up side, I do know they're there now :)

I will admit the photos are not doing this justice but c'mon it's see through, it reflects and it's grey and gloomy here today!!! This is the best I can do folks!! LOL

My DGD starts school in September. This little album is an homage to last month's Tuesday and Thursdays....our days :) The photos are Instagrams that I took on my phone.

All the papers are from my scraps boxes

I cut the hexagon background on the Silhouette.

recognise this one Lizzy??? DGD watched Lizzy's SCRAPfriends tutorial so out came the mists!!

No....not face paint......felt tip pen!!! Not on my watch, at preschool!!!

I really like the challenge of acrylic...i.e. you have to think about what will be seen on the reverse. It's a fun way to use up your stash and a lovely way for a small girl to remember her happy Mamma days :)

Also just been told about this :) Thank you lovely ladies for picking me!!

Blast Off mini Mini Album

Here's a super quick and easy little album.

I still have loads of my Blast Off collection left, so thought I would use some of it to show of my DGD :0)

Cut your papers the same width but different lengths, score them so that when you fold them they layer up nicely eg. score a 12" length of paper at 7"

Stitch or stick them together at the crease (remember if you are sticking to use very narrow tape or your pages won't lift!)

I die cut a star aperture on my front cover.

the monster tag pulls out for journalling

I also covered a wooden peg with washi tape and glittered a star from The Collectables and stuck it on.

A little month by month (enough for his first 6 months) book to document the rapid changes :0)

We Heart Sunshine

It's been a while since I played along with SCRAPfriends or at least it feels like it!!!

It is a place that is always jam packed with inspiration (not least from me old mate Lizzy) so not only have I used this month's sketch but also the wonderful tutorial from Sanna......what an amazing talent she has!!!

So here it is....for those of you who are FB friends you will know that this Instagram was such a hit my DDs and I all had this as a profile picture....I still do!!

I cut a hexagon stencil on the Silhouette and dusted off my Distress Ink Pads!!!

Elle Studio Snippets, Prima resin flower and MME stamps. The black mini hexagons are a Balzer Designs stencl

Ali Edwards + Silhouette = match made in heaven :)

Maya Road ribbon slider and the Cricut got a look in on this lo!!!
Here is the lovely sketch:

Dream Big

I have spent the last couple of evenings fiddling about with Project Life (not PL proper....some additional pages for DGS' album) and really needed to do a 12 x 12 lo!!

Paper Stories have another super sketch this month....albeit getting towards the closing date!! Better late than never :)))

I started this lo with nothing like the final result in mind .....but do you know what??? I love it!! :))))

*sigh* Heidi Swapp on the Silhouette :)))

Papers are American Crafts 'Little Boy Blue' and I was going to go all cutesy.....???? Check out the heart....details below!!

YUM YUM YUM!!! This stuff is called Sparkle Medium by Imagination Crafts.......glittered texture paste!!!! I scraped mine through a chevron stencil onto acetate........it looks good here....but in real life it is amazing!
Here is the sketch....it's a beaut :)

yes I know....one day I will do multiple photos!!!

This Boy

There is a delicious colour challenge over at Life Paper Scrapbook...really the perfect colour palette for a small boy and his adoring Grandma :)))

The photo is not the best quality but it is the only one I have of that first moment that I got to hold my DGS when he was minutes old......a very special moment in my life :)

glorious papers from Fancy Pants...all the rest is from my hoard (and some of it is ancient!)

Studio Calico wood veneer star and word, the star has been misted with Teal Color Shine. A Martha Stewart clay flower misted with CS Mustard...I love that stuff! The rub on is 'old as the hills' HOTP.

no prizes for guessing that the title was cut on the Silhouette!! Heidi Swapp stamp.

More Studio Calico wood veneers, clay star (made by me!) MME brad, Stash Panache flair and Ali Edwards stamp.

Back in the day I used to scrap 8 x 8 and without exception every album (including commissioned ones) has this layout design in it....so I thought I would give it a try 12 x 12 stylee......I really, really like it!! Hope you do too :)

'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' for Merly Impressions

Hello, hello!!

I was delighted to be given the Blast Off collection to play with...absolute perfection for someone with a new little man in her life! However, I wanted to show you all that this collection is soooo versatile!

Today I wanted you to see how it can be toned down with a photo of DGD in her pink pyjamas :0)

I have used the Kaisercraft number background stamp and a pale grey ink...really subtle but gorgeous! The title was cut from the Gravity paper and I punched out the orange star and replaced it with a metal one from my stash. I layered up border stickers and strips of paper from the collection and dotted some of the blue Kaisercraft rhinestones around.

The moon circle is from the Collectables pack, so many lovely bits to choose from! The 'R' is from the letter stickers.

I hope you'll agree, that for a collection that is mainly primary colours and aimed at boys, this has worked perfectly for a sweet little miss :0)

Thanks for popping in today, looking forward to sharing more Kaisercraft goodness with you soon!

Fabulous and Stylish ..... she thinks!

It's another scorcher here in the UK and whilst I should be cleaning and ironing....it's just too hot.....soooo into the cool of my craft room I go!!!

About a Girl have another beautiful sketch for all the ladies in your life. I have created a layout about my littlest lady's fashion sense.

I have ripped the paper (albeit washi!) and used ONE flower but I have stuck to the sketch. I love my DGD but sometimes I do wonder what people must think when we go out for the day!! She is always immaculately turned out when Mummy is there to get her ready so I think it's good to allow her individuality to shine through....even if it does mean grey socks with sandals and three bunches!!!

How lovely is that heart frame??? Cut on my Silhouette....of course! The ink splat is a stamp that I won from Skissedilla :)

I love banners but I wanted to change it up as this was such a clean and contemporary lo. I had these little veneer triangles, so I stuck paper to the back and voila!!! I love 'em.

I have bent the SC chipboard butterfly for dimension. I know you are seeing a lot of these tags recently but I bought hundreds of them!!!

Here is the lovely sketch that inspired it all:

August Sketch for Sketchbook365

Scary eh? Where is this year going?????

I loved this month's sketch!! Right up my CAS alley ;0)

I am soooo very behind with the kiddos' scrapbooks....mainly because I have a ton of photos to print and no time to sit at the computer to get them done. Still only one more week and then I am kid free and will be able to catch up on all the things that have been piling up on the back burner :0)

Here is my take, a photo of DGD and his Daddy :0)

I used my Counterfeit Kit (for the first bloomin time this month!) I just love the colours.
the star die has to be my best buy recently....by Memory Box

Exceedingly old Thickers (so old there is no sticky left on them!)

I misted through a star stencil, stamped with MME and Scraptastic stamps and made banners with more MME stamps from my kit.

So now it's your turn to hop on over to Sketchbook365 and play along with the sketch and get some fabulous inspiration from the brilliant DT girls :0)

Is This My Colour?!

Life has definitely been eating into my scrappy time...actually, that's not quite true! I have been doing loads of crafting...just nothing on the challenge front, until now!

Sarah's Cards Ltd, a crafty shop that I just love, have a lovely sketch challenge this month. Super simple, but perfect for putting your spin onto. Don't you find that sometimes? If a sketch is too detailed you find yourself following it to the ink splat??? Or is that just me?!!!

So here is my take with a fetching Instagram of DGD 'testing' the lipsticks in Superdrug!!! LOL.....I think she was more surprised that I asked her to pose for a photo rather than whipping out a baby wipe!!

I have dug into my CKC....yay!!!

I had totally forgotten about these old Prima letters.....super sparkly :)

painted and die cut corrugated card butterfly.......journal card pulls out

told ya! By sheer luck the MME stamp had 4 1/4 as a measurement...her age...so I applied more pressure to that bit of the stamp.

The circle 'paper' in the background is texture paste through a mask onto acetate...deffo doing this again...it looks fabulous in real life. The background is a Glitz 6 x 6 paper trimmed down by 1/2" on each side.
I had a great time putting this one together. Here's the sketch if you would like to play along :)

'Sweet' for Merly Impressions

Hello, hello!

I am back with another layout using the fabulous Blast Off collection from Kaisecraft :0)

This challenge is all about Summer Times.

I love a picnic, especially on the beach. Who cares about sand if you have the sea within paddling distance?? Perfection :0)

I took this photo on a recent expedition to the beach. It sums up what Summer is all about for me......delicious fruit, beaches, picnics and happy times :0)

The Kaisercraft card stock that Chrissy sent me is a dream to cut  on the Silhouette

I had fun going through the Collectables and finding ways to include the phrases on a layout about fruit!

don't these colours just scream happy Summer days?

Thanks so much for popping in today. I hope you will play along with the challenge.....looking forward to seeing what you come up with :0)
