'Aunty'

OK so time to 'fess up!!

You may note that there is no longer a x/100 in the title.....I tried, I really did, but that pesky Create and Craft went and had a birthday with free p&p and all the Heidi Swapp and American Crafts stuff in the sale.....what's a girl to do?????

Soooo.....I will at the very least continue with my CKC kits and TRY not to spend too much!! On a positive note I have been a lucky little crafter and won some beeeuoootiful stamps from Skissedilla and found out this morning that I have won a prize at CCW :0)

This time I am back to play with Lets Get Sketchy I am loving their sketches this month :0)

Another lo for DGS' scrapbook, this time with his adoring aunt and when I say adoring, I mean totally besotted.....as in head over heels in love:0)

using more bits from my lovely CKC April Kit

circles are misted with Tattered Angels and Color Shine. You can just about see LOVE using one of my new embossing folders

ombred Heidi Swapp letters with ProMarkers....love this!!

PLS card, SC heart and a leaf die from Marianne (I think)

9/100 'Hello Sweet Baby'

I haven't played at Let's Get Sketchy for a while but when I saw this sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to use!

I bought the Ali Edwards new baby brushes a while ago and converted them to SVG files with the intention of making new arrival cards for DD#2....sorry to say, what with everything else on my plate, it didn't happen!! So I now need to do something with them to justify the buy :0)

Ta da!!! DGD and DGS meeting for the first time....bless :0)

used more of my CKC Kit ....yay! It really does make scrapping life sooo easy :0)

the embossed heart is one of my new bargain Sizzix folders!

I adore Ali Edwards' work ......love that the lines are wiggly woggly!

Basic Grey fabric thing....I wasn't really sure what to do with it...so I chopped it in half!!
Here is the lovely sketch that got the old creative juices flowing:

7/100 'I'm Reviewing the Situation'

Another beaut of a sketch at the fabulous ScrapFriends.....oh how I love them :0)

Another lo for DGS' scrapbook and an homage to his great great grandfather who starred in Oliver!.....hence the title :0)

This little man fills my heart with pure joy. I am so lucky to have him living with me in these early weeks. Our bond is getting stronger and stronger.....and best of all???? He thinks I sing like an angel!!! For those with a more discerning musical ear it is like a cross between a yowling cat and fingernails on a blackboard but both my Grandies think I am a marvel when I belt out a show tune or two :0)

More loveliness from my CKC kit

stamp is Scraptastic Kit Club, button is American Crafts (v old) Journal card was cut on my Silhouette and matted onto PP Portfolio paper and typed on! Arrow is painted SC wood veneer

chevrons were cut on Silhouette, more painted SC wood veneers. The rubber love tag is soooo old, it feels great to finally be able to use it!!
I really enjoyed creating this layout. Lots of fiddling with bits and bobs :0)

6/100 White with One Challenge

Finding new places is becoming a habit!!

I have seen White With 1 on a few of my friends' blogs and as I love white (no, really?!!!) I thought it would be a good place to go to for inspiration :0)

I was not disappointed!! Not only do they have a sketch to inspire you but the colour combo for April is White and Yellow....delicious!!

So without further ado here is my brand new DGS minutes (if not seconds) after his arrival into the world....yay!! I have been very blessed to have been at the birth of both my grandchildren and both my Godchildren too....getting to be an old hand at this labour lark :0)

Nearly everything came from my April CKC kit

I cut this tag on the Silhouette and then stamped it with a Hero Arts baby boy set

stamp is from afore mentioned Hero Arts set
I have been watching Create and Craft today and they have the Melting Pot on a few of their shows....hang on a minute...I have one!! Let me blow the dust off it and make a few little doodads :0) This one is yellow UTEE with a bit of gilding flake chucked in for good measure! Erm...I think I may be playing with this for a little while LOL

Title was a freebie card from Pinterest. The big epoxy button was a recent purchase....Jillibean Soup maybe??? Crate Paper was embossed with a Sizzix folder.

MME sticker and a journal stamp. The little triangles are the positives from the tag :0)
Really, really loved making this one.....aaah white, you just can't beat it!!

Counterfeit Kit for April 'Sunshiny Day'

I didn't get to use much of my kit last month, but I have kept it all together so that I can go back to it when I have more time.

I had to play along this month as the divine Gossamer Blue kit for March was the one chosen to be forged and I, along with many others I suspect, had drooled over it longingly!! I did even contemplate signing up but remembered that I am not supposed to be buying....although that rule got broken today as there is a brilliant bargain on embossing folders at Cutting Edge Crafts..there £1 each, people...I had to!!!

Anywho, on to my version of the kit. I do have quite a few of the papers in the kit (albeit in mini versions) but decided to go along with the idea of CKC and find alternatives from my stash :0)

*** photo heavy post coming up***

so this is it in it's glorious completeness, so now let me show you in more detail!

I started with the cardstock and then picked and chose papers that had a similar feel or colour to the original.

Embellies are a mix of Silhouette cuts, free printables, some really new bits and some terribly old ones!!

I don't know how much time I will have to play but I am trying to give myself one evening a week in my haven :0)

3/100 a new place to play!

As you know scrapping time is few and far between at the mo, most of the recent posts were done on the same day but have been scheduled so as not to bombard you, LOL.

so I have been looking around for inspiration and came across The Studio Challenges blog lots of lovely bits and bobs over there to peruse :0)

My layout for their recent challenge is for DGD's December page, one of those gloriously crisp sunny winter days that we spent at the beach.

I got to use a bit more of my CKC kit...it's going to last way beyond March I think!!

MME, Maya Road and Ali Edwards stamps, PP label, adhesive pearls, the journal tag pulls out from behind the photo

American Crafts flair button, arrows cut on Silhouette and stamps from Scraptastic Kit Club. I stamped the I love you stamp in pink, then black and then applied glass bead paste and some glitter ....I couldn't find my glossy accents anywhere!!!

Here is the lovely sketch, you can see that I condensed it to fulfil my passion for white space!!

CKC Kit for March

I am not expecting to have very much time to scrap this month but in case I get an odd hour I wanted to have  stuff to hand!

Counterfeit Kit Club always pick a fabulous kit to forge and this month is no exception, so I grabbed my cardstock colours first and the rest just followed ...erm quite a lot of it truth be told :0)

Still, this reminds me why I have no need to shop!! LOL

The papers

the bird card is my nod to the owl in the kit

cardstock

see my chevron glassine bags? A mask and distress ink and my glorious Dreamweaver brushes :0)

the perfect fits all colour scheme I reckon
Delighted to have pulled out some 'old as the hills' bits and bobs to use!!

Thanks for popping in today, whilst I may not be around for a while, as soon as life settles down I will be popping in to see you :0)

'Live in the Moment'

Feels like forever since I sat at my desk to type!!

Been super busy with life and other crafty projects, like Christmas things for DD#1's classroom, making cupcakes out of wall filling foam for my local drama group and of course fiddling about with paints and canvases......more of that to come at a later date :0)

My post today was inspired by Scraptastic Kit club's challenge and also Counterfeit Kit's challenge. Now I subscribe to the kits at Scraptastic and although I planned to play along and make a kit up this month for CKC I really haven't had the time. However, using the sentiment behind CKC, i.e. use your stash, I made the background using only my scraps!

I have been OTT OCD and sorted my scraps into colour folders and this meant that it was simple to find the right papers to make up my sunburst. I then picked out some of the elements of my new Scraptastic Kit 'When Skies Are Grey' which I just adore!!

Go to both websites for a tutorial and have a go, it's soooo therapeutic....even if a little fussy....I can't decide if I love it or loath it!!

Apologies for the rather horrid photos but it is so dark and foggy here ...so, no bright white for me!

papers are October Afternoon, Glitz Design, Pink Paislee and My Minds Eye

Pink Paislee arrow and heart, Ali Edwards stamp and MME love stamp

more Pink Paislee and another Ali Edwards stamp, Pretty Little Studio diecut, TH butterfly and random old metal thing!!

not the most flattering of photos, granted, but I love that you can see the fun we have together!! We are spinning round on a bowl shaped roundabout thing at the park :0)

CKC 'Happy Day' and the end of a wonderful month!

Last one for this month......thank you for a wonderful time as the Guest Designer. I have had so much fun :0)

I thought having spent the month sharing the rainbow I would challenge myself to do a neutral layout.....I did try to keep it all neutral but had to dig out a blue mist in the end as it looked a little bit sad and gloomy!! Everything has been inspired by the Studio Calico kit I am still resisting the urge to buy!!!! I have to be strong as have been told that I have to have a dental implant at the princely sum of £2k...that is a lot of paper, LOL.

The photo is years old (I found it in a box at my Mum's) and is of my brothers and two of my cousins when we first got our lovely labrador Cassie circa 1983 :0)

Background paper is Basic Grey Basics, I cut a load of circles on the Silhouette but kept the blade depth quite shallow as I wanted some of the circles to stay attached. Mist is Cosmic Shimmer Chalk in Pastel Blue

Kraft card cut on the Sihouette. People are stamps that were cut out...can you tell the other one is a dog????

Birds and butterflies were cut on the Silhouette - I am using my Silhouette and Cricut so much more since finding CKC blog :0)

Teresa Collins journal stamp and more cutting on the Silhouette (camera)
I do really like this neutral palette but think it would work better with a 'modern' photo as this one is really dark....maybe next time I will scan and fiddle :0)

And so to the end of my June kit and the end of my time as a Guest Designer at CKC. It has been brilliant, I have had so much fun...and here is the evidence to prove it :0)

CKC Kit Scraps = Cards!

Hello,

thought I would share a handful of cards that I made with the last few bits of paper I had in my kit. I have to be honest and say that I brought in some additional bits :0)

The additional bits are: the original Cosmic Shimmer Chalkboard Mist I was going to have in my kit, the Hero Arts stamp, the twine and the negative of the star I used on another card!

The additional bits here are: Glitz Design stickers, the twine and a button.

A different washi tape, the Fiskars stamp and the Copsmic Shimmer Spray...again! Do you get the feeling it was a  'what is sitting on my desk?' kind of a card!

A piece of unadulterated chipboard, the star and some Glitz rub ons. The frame was cut using a Nellie Snellen die.
Thanks for popping in.....nearly at the end now :0(
