Frosted Designs #46 'Hello You'

It's sketch time again at Frosted Designs!!

This was a bit of a rush job as having only just returned from holiday, then dashing away for DD#1's graduation, then going to a friends's wedding, I had to grab what was to hand and just go with it! I am really into orange at the moment....don't know why.....but what I do know is that once this layout was done I was really happy with the way it turned out...who needs hours when 30 minutes gets you this!!

This really came together thanks to Crate Paper stickers and K & Co rub ons! The circle is Distress Stain through a mask and then spritzed with Cosmic Shimmer Mist

I had already splatted this orange paper from Heidi Swapp 'No Limits' with white paint so didn't have to wait for paint to dry...hooray! The flower is an old Prima one. The journaling tag is from Anna Griffin.

What also helped with the speedy process was having another fabulous sketch from Karin to work with :0)

Thanks for popping in today, hope to see your take over at Frosted Designs....you have 2 weeks to get it done :0)

Ruby Wedding Anniversary Mini Album

I can see a light at the end of the tunnel! Never again will I moan about not going out enough! I have one week before we fly out to Tunisia and I am making the crafting most of it!!!

DH and I are shattered (in a good way) and I am stressing about the commitments I have made as a GD....more of that next month!! I don't want to keep worrying about what is coming up, but to just enjoy the ride. The trouble is I am such an anal control freak!! Hey ho, one thing that I can tick off is the album that my friend asked me to make to celebrate her parents' 40th wedding anniversary.

She wanted a 'junk' album with lots of places for her Mum to write notes and pop keepsakes in. There are loads of pages but here are a few so you get the idea :0)

DP are primarily Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden

A misted brown paper bag to hold precious bits and bobs.

A min book for extra photos.

A did quite a few fold out pages, this is one of them.
Although I was given about 15 photos to use I added in some blank pages for the couple to pop in more photos that they love.

I haven't made a junk album for a while and it has given me the nudge to make some more. I love that eclectic feel...and the best bit is you can use up any old bits and bobs that are lying around! this book has got an acetate sheet, transparencies, vellum, paper bag, mini album, cut and stitched page protector, tags and pockets. I am hoping that it will get fatter and fatter as it is filled with treasures and happy memories :0)

...and yet more cards!!!

I really can't remember the last time I made so many cards!! Thought I would share the wedding one I made for my friends and also a couple of commissioned ones :0)

Apologies for the wonky and, frankly, not brilliant photographs. I am so tired that I appear to be viewing things on the squiff!!

Super simple! I embossed all the card using various folders and then hand cut the cake tiers, added some pearls and ribbon and did a bit of stamping :0)

Anna Griffin paper put through the printer for the custom sentiment.

I really like the way the flags came out on this one!
Thanks for popping in today,

A sweet card for a treasured girl :0)

Super swift post in between packing, dog walking, cleaning and all the other stuff!!

Off in a minute to to stay over in Norfolk as DD#1's graduation ceremony is at 9.30 tomorrow morning and here is the card that I made for her. Not the usual graduate card, I admit, but personal to her as she begins her new teaching job in September and she is an absolute star as far as we are concerned :0)

I have finally broken into the Graphic 45 pad I recently found tucked away...do you know the worst thing? I had it shipped over from the States as I was so desperate for it.......shocking waste of money!!! Still that tiny bit of sum paper along with the story card from Pretty Little Studio was perfect for a teacher :0) The red star paper is Pink Paislee and the felt star was cut on the Cuttlebug.

Thanks for popping in, off to see my girl reap the rewards of a very long and hard working year...yay!

Caravan of Love ;0)

Well, hellooo!!

It feels like ages since I was here! We have just returned from a marvelous week in Lake Garda.........molto bello :0) Off to Norwich tomorrow for DD#1's graduation from her Masters degree......puffs up chest with pride.....a wedding on Saturday...and then off to Tunisia with DD#1 and DGD!! Phew.....now you know why this blog has been, and will be, a bit quiet!

My cousin, the one from the previous layout, has moved into a caravan with her fiance after returning from their world tour. So to accommodate all the photos that have been appearing on Facebook I thought I would make her a little album to pop them into :0)

Cut with the good old Silhouette this little beauty came together in an evening...just as well otherwise it would have stayed in my head as an idea!!

I was quite proud of myself as I had to fiddle about with the tools to create the inner pages :0)

Off to make a card for the upcoming celebrations. I am sorry that I haven't been visiting your lovely blogs, I shall have a lot of catching up to do!!

Take care and thanks for popping in,

Frosted Designs #45 'Hugs and Kisses'

Hello,

got another of Karin's wonderful sketches over at Frosted Designs to play with today :0)

I had a great time messing about with paste, inks, mists and paint!! The overall effect is a lot 'busier' than I would normally go for, but as the sketch took up most of the page I tried to stay true to it, whilst sticking to my style (ish)

The photo is of my youngest cousin and me in 1983. I didn't have as close a bond with this little dot as I did with her brothers and sisters, a. because I was in my late teens when she was born and was out and about all the time and b. I had DD#1 when she was only 4.....hard to believe 2 years after this photo I was a Mummy...I am but a child myself!!!!

As the years have gone by she and I have become really close and having just returned from a 6 month trip around the world I can not wait to give her lots of hugs and kisses :0)

Papers are American Crafts - the old Dear Lizzy line.

The yellow circle is a Prima mask painted, misted and flicked with ink. American Crafts brad

A wooden flower inked, another of my punched tags and a super old Basic Grey chipboard heart and button! More paint flicking and messing about :0)

Pearl embossing paste and acrylic paint through a mask and then I inked through a dotty mask.

Title was cut on the Silhouette....don't know about you but I can't stop using mine these days...they have such brilliant weekly bargains!!! Final little flourish was the blue pearls.

Thanks so much to Karin for providing us with this little beauty to play with:

and thanks to you for popping in today :0)

CKC 'Happy Day' and the end of a wonderful month!

Last one for this month......thank you for a wonderful time as the Guest Designer. I have had so much fun :0)

I thought having spent the month sharing the rainbow I would challenge myself to do a neutral layout.....I did try to keep it all neutral but had to dig out a blue mist in the end as it looked a little bit sad and gloomy!! Everything has been inspired by the Studio Calico kit I am still resisting the urge to buy!!!! I have to be strong as have been told that I have to have a dental implant at the princely sum of £2k...that is a lot of paper, LOL.

The photo is years old (I found it in a box at my Mum's) and is of my brothers and two of my cousins when we first got our lovely labrador Cassie circa 1983 :0)

Background paper is Basic Grey Basics, I cut a load of circles on the Silhouette but kept the blade depth quite shallow as I wanted some of the circles to stay attached. Mist is Cosmic Shimmer Chalk in Pastel Blue

Kraft card cut on the Sihouette. People are stamps that were cut out...can you tell the other one is a dog????

Birds and butterflies were cut on the Silhouette - I am using my Silhouette and Cricut so much more since finding CKC blog :0)

Teresa Collins journal stamp and more cutting on the Silhouette (camera)
I do really like this neutral palette but think it would work better with a 'modern' photo as this one is really dark....maybe next time I will scan and fiddle :0)

And so to the end of my June kit and the end of my time as a Guest Designer at CKC. It has been brilliant, I have had so much fun...and here is the evidence to prove it :0)

A handful of 'girlie' cards

My Mum has put in a request for some feminine cards 'Whilst I like your 'grungy' look I don't want it on the cards I send to my friends' LOL

Hope she likes these ones, especially as I have used my cherished MME Follow Your Heart!! It takes my Mum to bring me to the point that enables me to put scissors to them :0)

Thanks for popping in,
