Sketches in Thyme Open Challenge

Phew last one for today, I really do need to iron!

I love the open challenge as you get to see where the DT go for inspiration and I always find a new place to play! This time it was a blog called http://sketchsavvy.blogspot.com/ who provided this one. It's really unusual for me to choose something so 'busy' but I really liked how it turned out.

The photos are of DH and DD#2, birds of a feather these two, and great mates :0)

The papers are from Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby, the squares were all inked with Tea Dye. The 3D sticker is Anna Griffin. The border has been punched with a MS Deep Edge Punch and then run through the Cuttlebug with a flourish embossing folder. I used Coredinations Black Magic card so that I could sand it back. The little black circle has had a similar treatment except I punched the circle and then ran it through with the TH Bingo folder. Everything else is a stamped image from Pink Paislee's Daily Junque collection. A little bit of misting and some Stickles.

I like that it looks a little bit masculine but not so much that DD#2 looks out of place.

Thanks so much for stopping by, coffee now and then ironing............????

Thursday Takes # 55

Sketches in Thyme always deliver and this sketch was no exception!

My take is with photos from a trip to the Zoo, you can't see from the pictures but DH and DGD were watching the elephants :0)

The papers are Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe. I cut the background shape on my Silhouette. The circle/flower at the bottom is a Marianne D die. The elephant has been stamped and then cut out (sorry I have no idea who  made the stamp!) The circles are all punched from the paper.

Thanks for looking,

Pencil Lines Sketch #252

So back into the swing of things now, plus we have sunshine today! Why are you always more prolific in the sun? I am about to go and iron and I don't feel depressed about it at all, lol.

I loved this sketch from PL, it sang to me!

Sketch_pencillines

My layout is of DD#1 and her chap and although the lighting on all the photos is different it works with the colour of the paper (I think!)

Papers are My Mind's Eye So Sophie. The misting was done with a Cosmic Shimmer spray Aqua Lagoon. The turquoise mat was punched with MS Ribbon Loop and the circle is Turquoise Stickles.

Thanks for looking, still more to come :0)

Pencil Lines Sketch #251

Morning,

had a lovely day yesterday with DH, nice to have a little bit of time on our own every once in a while! I also found the time to spend a few hours in my craft room so had a catch up with some of the challenges I have missed whilst on holiday.

The first one is from Pencil Lines, I liked this one as it was clean and simple.

Sketch 251

and here is my take with a photo of our little family gathering :0)

Papers are Echo Park Life is Good. Martha Stewart PATP round the mat and the little blue daisy chain. The sentiment was cut from the papers. The trim is from Michelle's Etsy store Little Red Barn - check her out as she has some real bargains! The corner flourish is from a Spellbinders Die.

Thanks for looking, will be back with more shortly!

Sketchy Thursdays 9.22

Love, love, love this sketch! For those of you who have seen my layouts in the past you will know that I love a more clean look. I have tried so many times to emulate the complicated and 'fussy' works of others but to no avail - I always end up hating them! Sketchy Thursdays always provide the perfect inspiration for me :0)

9.22 sketch challenge

I am really into rosettes at the moment - I am more than happy to score and fold for hours! So when I saw the circle on the sketch I knew exactly what to start with :0)

The background cardstock is from a pastel pearlescent collection in my stash. The papers are October Afternoon, primarily Daydreamer. Rub on is Crate Paper Paper Doll, Prima Pebble, Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe Die Cuts and Stickers, Heide Swapp felt butterfly and an American Crafts Dear Lizzy flower brad.

Thanks so much for stopping by, off to Danbury Woods now for a lovely walk in the autumn sunshine with DH and Basil :0)

Sketch Along Tuesdays #24

Hi all

a super dooper sketch from the girls at Frosted Design!

I didn't want to use up all my white space ....you know how I love to see white!...so I kept the 'blocks' to a minimum.

The photos are of my DGD and me back in June, we had a family lunch in the garden and as this was one of the rare days that we had sun we made full use of it :0)

Papers are October Afternoon 'Daydreamer' and die cut with a square Marianne D die and punched with a MS punch. The circle is a Spellbinders Die. The sentiment is cut with my Silhouette, flowers are Prima with adhesive pearls added. The border stamp is from Anna Griffin.

Thanks for looking

Home sweet home

Hi all

I have now returned after a fabulous holiday in turkey with DH and the very welcome and unplanned presence of our darling GD :)

Turkey is a truly beautiful country and if you get the chance to go ....grab it!

So after tackling the equivalent of Everest in ironing I am now safely back in my craft room :0)

I discovered that I was the winner over at Frosted Designs for Sketch #22 whilst I was away and missed out on a prize......poo! However, I am delighted that I was chosen and am not going to lament on missing out on a gift certificate because I happened to be sunning myself and eating copious amounts of excellent food!

Looking forward to sharing more projects in the very near future. Watch out for all those holiday photos!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
