'You Can Do It'

It's time for another sketch over at Sketchbook365, this time it's a multiple photo one, not my usual thing, but I did use my phone and the photo booth app to record the momentous first 'big girl' bike ride :0) Not the the best photos I grant you (I really need to brush up on using my phone!) but it was an important day in the life of DGD!!

not very much pp but what I did use was some American Crafts Dear Lizzy Enchanted (????) in my stash!

Ali Edwards stamp, SC stars (will I ever tire of them?!) TA Glam in Grand Tetons and Rocking on Sunshine

Tears because she hated her helmet and couldn't possibly concentrate whilst in soooo much pain! Letters are Prima, SC bike and everything else cut on the Silhouette

journaling has been written on both sides of tag, it was only die to the threat of me going inside that we finally got going!!

here is the sketch, based on Yvonne Yam's layout:

not exactly the same but you can see where I was coming from! I quite like that you could chop my page in half and have 2 stand alone layouts. I think that represents the sad and the happy sides to big girl bike riding :0)

On another note ScrapFriends have thrown down the gauntlet to share your first scrapbook page. Do you remember the first time????

I share this with you on the understanding that you accept I knew no better!!!LOL oh how my style has changed :0)

I can remember 'creating' this on my dining room table and being delighted with the result!! Although it wouldn't be my choice of style today I can look at it and smile....plus I have used the original photos so there's no throwing it away!!! Do you know what else? I have glued this page to the one that sits behind it in the album....what's all that about??? LOL

Thanks for popping in today,

Today is Your Day

Another FAB-U-LOUS challenge over at ScrapFriends :0)

This time I am playing along with their colour challenge.......and it's a good 'un!!

I have had this old photo of me, DH and DD#2 hanging around since I brought it down from the loft to repurpose the frame...I know it was taken on one of my birthdays...I think around 1993...hence the hair...both DH and me!!!

Papers are scraps :0) Background stamp is Kaisercraft
Check out the fabulous texture rub ons from Christy Tomlinson...yummy!
Lovely flair badge from Stash Panache :0)

So the challenge is:

Colour Palette Challenge #9

and I used this week's sketch from Let's Get Sketchy

A real 'scrap' mini!!

Some of you will have read that I organised all my scraps into individual acrylic folders, one for each colour plus neutrals...well I have also done the same for my embellishments, one drawer per colour..... patterned paper and ......cardstock!! Told ya...OCD Queen (and I wonder why I have so little time to myself!!) Ribbons, flowers and buttons were done a long time ago...and as for stickles....

 need I say more? LOL

Anyway I am on a mission to use all these bits and pieces I lovingly spare from the bin :0) I saw a mini recently on the Pink Paislee blog, super simple, fold 6 x 12 papers in half and attach!! Great huh?

I have a lot of 6 x 12 pieces as I only have a mini cricut and that's the size of my cutting mat. Armed with a selection of randomness I folded and punched holes and tied with seam binding.

I also have a little box that contains anything I have cut on the Silhouette or Cuttlebug and didn't use.....at last, a use for these little bits and bobs!

And here we have a mini documenting our day at the Discovery Centre with DD#1 and DGD :0)

'Woodentops' on a passing whim!

Does this sound familiar? I was on my way to get dressed and as I passed my craft room I noticed a washi tape on the floor. In I went to pick it up and before I put it in the jar, I pulled out a piece of paper and started messing about with it. I had just been flicking through the blogs I follow and had seen the Skissedilla sketch and had also spotted the chevron paper from Crate Fourteen collection....an idea was born!

2 hours later I am still in my pyjamas, having created my page for the challenge, photographed it and am now posting it!! Have just had a phone call from DH as I am supposed to be walking the dog round to DD#1's to help out with taking stuff to the dump! Needless to say I lied through my teeth and said I had been busy with the hoover and was on my way......so without delay, here is my take ;0)

washi tape 'chevronned' up

Weathered Wood and Pumice Stone distress inks, Tattered Angels Glam in Heffalump

me and my baby bruvs a long time ago!

Stash Panache button and October Afternoon stickers

yummy sketch!

Not brilliant photos, but I'm in a rush!!

Happy weekend, thanks for popping in,

'The Beauty of Everyday Life'

Hello, hello!!

Still going strong with my giving up, which means lots more time in my craft room :0)
A little mini to share with you today. I rarely take photos with my camera but the few I have taken just sit there...I don't upload them, I don't print them, I mostly forget that they are even there!!

So today I decided that I would do something with these not particularly brilliant photos. They do represent funny and special little moments in a normal day, so should be used!!

I took out a Flash Card Album from October Afternoon from the box that really has far too many blank chipboard albums in....how did they get there?? Et...voila!!

OA and SC papers, OA camera sticker and Ali Edwards stamp

and without the string so that you can see it properly!

Every page has a tag with the details of what, when, where

I am really pleased with the result and will start using my phone more often just so that I can fill this little beauty :0)

'Big Thanks'

I am on a roll!! Can't seem to prize myself away from my desk at the moment, but it's all helping to keep me on the straight and narrow :0) ....over a week now, so by my calculations that's £40 more to spend on paper, paint and pretty things!!!

I saw this week's sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy and thought it would be right up my street....albeit shrunk down!

It took a few little tweaks to get it right enough to go into an album....I went a bit mad with the mist...so not happy from the offset....I know, I know I should have started again, but I just can't bear to throw cardstock away!!

I made the chevron mask on the Silhouette and misted with Mr Huey and Tattered Angels mists and liked it. Then the postman delivered some new SC masks so I decided to use the star one...yeah I know hard to tell as the mist I used was clogged and squirted rather then misted...grrr! So there is a hint of the stars and then I turned the mask over to use up the residual ink. I cut the photo into two as there was a big gap between my Mum and Dad, wouldn't have thought of doing that if the sketch hadn't called out for 2 photos!

The title is cut on the Silhouette as is the arrow that you can hardly see on the left! Papers are Pink Paislee and MME. With Teresa Collins transparency and a chipboard corner from WRMK.

The heart and arrow were also done on the Silhouette. The 21 die cut is Pretty Little Studio (forgot I had them!) Teh stamp is MME, the felt flower is an old Heidi Swapp and the pearls are Kaisercraft
I added some drips of black ink to ground it all, and am now happy with the result :0)

Here is the sketch that inspired it all

...better late than never :0)

I know that life has been eating into my blogging time but have only just realised that I forgot to share my calendar for 2013 with you!

I like to make a calendar every year and when I say the Heidi Swapp free printables click here I knew that this was going to be the one for this year :0) It is only 7 x 5 and DH made a wise point...how are you going to fit everything into those tiny squares? Hmm...with mini journaling cards and a sparkly peg of course!!! Happy accidents :0)

OK...as there are 12 months in a year there are going to be a lot of photos....you have been warned!!

I have put my Silhouette to good use on this project! The cake stamp is Hero Arts and everything else is from My Minds Eye, Ali Edwards, Studio Calico and Maya Road :0)
