CSI Case File #10 'Who will you be in 46 years?'

Hello, hello, hello!!!

Phew....scrapping mojo found, dusted down and now in fine fettle!!!

I sat down yesterday in my craft room and accidentally kicked a box of old photos my Mum had given me to play with, and there in that tattered old box was my inspiration and desire to scrap...hooray!!

Ok so I know I shouldn't use originals but I couldn't be bothered to scan and print I just wanted to get down and dirty straight away, anyway, if you saw the state of the box and it's contents I don;t think anyone is going to have a fit, lol.

So, this week's case file is a beaut :



My take is a picture of me (a very tatty one at that!)

Evidence: all colours used 

Metal Making Memories thing with Maya Road stamp, Prima fabric numbers

Fabric flower ribbon 

TH butterfly, paint dabbers (about 4 colours mixed to get the  right shade!) plus some Lake Mist, dark green ink

Glitz transparency to hold journalling

Journalling was all about hope, motherhood - although I journalled about my parents and their aspirations for me.

Lets Get Sketchy 'Happy Feet'

Good morning,

it feels like ages since I posted anything!!!

I really wanted to use the new sketch over at LGS as is was so sweet :0) I have totally lost my love of scrapping at the moment and was hoping that this sketch and the sweet photos of DGD would bring it flooding back.......sadly, no flood but at least a little dribble is starting to form!!! I need to get my act together as I have DT stuff to do and I haven't even looked at the new case file for CSI :0(

Please help me with some thoughts and ideas!!!

Anyhow, here is what I did manage to cobble together inspired by this lovely sketch:

Pretty much an October Afternoon fest with a  handful of Maya Road stamps and some Cosmic Shimmer Mist :0)

CSI Case File #9 'A Quiet Hero'

Hello all,

it's been very quiet on the scrapping front in this corner of the world. We have had so much going on with family birthdays and life in general, I was seriously beginning to doubt that I would get this file done. Life is a bit more settled for today (well, at least for the morning) so I was able to finish off and get the camera out :0)

I love this week's case file!! Love the colours, the testimony, the evidence...everything!!

My take is of my BFF and the photo is of her and her family that I took for her birthday scrapbook. One of the journaling challenges was to be inspired by the song 'Wind Beneath my Wings', my first thought was of BF :0)

White embossing paste and Prima mask; Cosmic Shimmer mist and Tattered Angels Chalkboard.  White acrylic paint and  Cosmic Shimmer mica powder. Papers used are Crate Paper (pink) and October Afternoon (text)

I sewed the ribbon on to hold my journal book.

Glitz Designs stamp

Prima fabric letters that have been misted with Cosmic Shimmer spray. Stamps are  Martha Stewart alpha

Bird is GCD Studio - painted, misted, painted again!! Stickers are Crate Paper and October Afternoon

This layout was all about my BF and I being opposites. I am loud, she is quiet, I am an extrovert, she is an introvert. She loves pretty things and I love more graphic, distressed things. All in all many people have questioned why we are friends over the years!!! She is the ying to my yang. She is more than my BF, she is my sister, my hero...'the everything I would like to be'.

Frosted Designs #36 'Future's so Bright'

Good morning my lovelies :0)

I had sooo much fun with this sketch from Marina over at Frosted Designs, the new DT have done an amazing job so do go and take a peep....and while you're there, give them a fabulous welcome!

Here is the sketch:

My layout is of my cousin and me, at my boy cousin's (her brother) wedding in October. It was an exceptionally sunny day - hence the glasses. Didn't occur to either of us that all the wedding photos would have us wearing shades!! Never mind there were plenty of indoor ones where you can see our eyes....getting more and more out of focus as the evening wore on, lol!!

Background paper is Basic Grey 'Basics'; patterned paper is my most fave of Cosmo Cricket's lines 'Odds and Ends'. Letters are American Crafts 'Remarks' and 'Thickers'

Background stamp is Personal Impressions; heart mirror bought from The Works (40 shapes for 99p)  glass brad GCD Studios; resin rectangle is old American Crafts, stickers are Cosmo

The stars have been painted on with Studio Paint and Crackle Paint and then some have been rubbed over with  Aqua chalk ink

Frosted Designs Tutorial

Phew!! By the seat of my pants I have managed to complete my tutorial for the FD blog :0)
The photos are not brilliant as they have been taken in my craft room late at night but, hey ho, you will get the gist!!

Recently I have been a little obsessed with texture and before I bought embossing paste (my new favourite thing) I came across this lovely idea and have been playing with it ever since.

So, in order to get these little lovelies:

Looks and feels like embossed, distressed chipboard

you will need:

Yes, toilet roll, water and a Cuttlebug or something similar

So, down to business:

Rip off 8 sheets of loo roll

Lay them in the water for a couple of seconds

Goodness only knows what is going through your mind now! But you need to squeeze  the tissue gently.

Unfold it so it is kind of back to its original shape

Place it in whatever embossing folder you fancy and run it through your machine

And here is one, still damp, from the machine. You can leave it like this to dry, or...

You can play with your inks and sprays whilst it's wet for a muted look, or..... 

wait for it to dry for a more vibrant feel. Both of these had the same Tattered Angels Chalk Mists sprayed onto them: Cornflower Daze, Apricot Nectar and Firefly as well as Cosmic Shimmer Chalk: Pastel Green

I like to mist and die cut as with this card:

Crate Paper 'Neighbourhood' Collection

but I also like to cut out by hand and leave it white:

I also love it all tattered and torn.....

I just think it's genius and make up batches at a time. Hope you enjoyed this and give it a try :0)
