A Daily Dose of Nostalgia

Hiya,

I don't have very much I can share with you at the moment, so I thought I would let you have a peep at the mini album I made for my Dad's desk.

It was another of Heidi Swapp's genius ideas, made from a cat food box (I know!!!) I got it all done in one evening...brilliant :)

the scrap box (neutrals this time) came out to play :)

as it was for Father's Day it is all about his kids, his grand-daughters and his great grandchildren. He was over the moon :0)

This Girl is NOT Camera Shy

Another beauty this month at Sketchbook365!

The DT were lucky enough to be given a collection of Basic Grey to play with. I got Knee Highs :0)

I love the colour mix, really bright and cheerful and perfect for a photo of my Goddaughter posing for her school photo (it makes me chuckle every time I see it) check out the carefully positioned hair ;0)

waste not want not...the green semi circles are the waste from a border sticker!

Everything is from the collection with the exception of the MME 'Smile' stamp and the thread.

Winner

Curse the bloomin' weather we are having....hot and overcast and completely rubbish for taking photos of white layouts!! Wish I liked colour, life would be so much easier!!

Enough of that, I have found two lovely challenges today that I have incorporated into one layout, using my gorgeous CKC kit :0)

1. About a Girl have a June challenge to use doilies on your layout.

2. The Studio Challenges are doing a Lift Chain Blog Hop...which is genius in itself. I chose to lift Amanda's layout.....a real beaut :0)

Here is my take:

Our local zoo is 50 years old and held a competition to colour in a giraffe.The winning entries were painted on a lifesize model. DGD's Nursery were one of the winners and their giraffe is in the entryway to a large supermarket.

title cut on the Silhouette. I used watered down acrylic paints to splatter as I didn't have the right colour mists.

I have been having a massive clearout in my craft room....pictures soon....and have discovered so many things that I have never used....like this little die :0)

lovely ring stain stamp from a set I won from Skissedilla ...yay!

sorry for the hideous photos...such a shame as this layout is so pretty in real life!! Perhaps I should have waited to share it ;0)

I am doing a happy, happy dance!!

Just wanted to share my joy at being asked to join the DT at Merly Impressions!!

I am over the moon and super excited to be a part of this wonderful group of smashing crafty ladies :0)

Merly Impressions specialise in Kaisercraft goodies and I can not wait to share the things I have been working on....but wait I must!

Happy Day My Darling Dad

Thought I would pop in and share the card and present I made for my Dad. By the time this schedules I will be with him, celebrating his special day, along with DH and his girls and now SIL and his son :0) Happy, happy Father's Day to you all.

Heidi Swapp 'No Limits' and Studio Calico 'Classic Calico' 6 x 6 papers and lots of Silhouette action!

my Dad's a gardener, so I thought this tin would come in handy....then an idea was born!

I made a seed packet

wrote instructions on the back using seed packet lingo

the 'seeds' spell out his present.

When the seeds are put into the right order they tell him that he and I are going out to Beth Chatto's garden for lunch, a stroll around the gardens and then on to their nursery where a particularly unusual plant he has been hankering after will be waiting for him to collect :0)

Dare You!

I found time to play along with the The Color Room palette #152...the perfect way to use my Counterfeit Kit for this month and last :0)

The photo was taken at the seaside in winter and believe it or not I did dare to go in the sea.....then walked around with wet feet for the rest of the afternoon DOH!! 

I have been drooling over blog friend's fabulous backgrounds using Gelattos and other art supplies, so dug out DH's super old Caran D'Ache pencils from his school days and had a little play! The paper warped, so maybe not so much water next time, but I'm not that bothered by it....it's only for me :0)

Nose Job

I saw this sketch over at Paper Stories and had to play along....it's a stunner!

The photo on this layout was resurrected from another lo that was heading for the bin. I hated the layout (an experiment that went badly wrong, LOL) but I loved the photo, yeah it's not great quality, but it makes me laugh as I walked into the TV room to find these two with Babybel noses, ha ha ha, just makes me chuckle every time I think of it ;0) So, I ripped it off the lo before it entered the work of the recycling bin and voila:

Laugh Out Loud

I love a sketch....you don't say!!! I rarely do a lo without first seeing a sketch and when I saw the challenge over at The Studio Challenges to use stitching on a layout I scrolled back a bit and found a lovely sketch to play with too :0) (the sketch challenge is finished, but that's no reason to pass it by!)

using my CKC kit....lots of washi in this one!

you will note that there is a slight mist of peach spray .... I left this one to one side for the Perfect Pearls to dry and started misting another lo....ooops!!

putting the Silhouette to good use....again!

Together on a sunny winter's day (we don't get many of them to the pound!!)

There's another super, well I say super, no it is super, but also daunting sketch over at ScrapFriends! I ended up creating something that is so unlike my normal style i.e. the page is pretty full (for me!)

I wish that I had some smaller photos so that I could have shrunk it all down, but hey ho, it's all about having fun, and I had plenty of fun making this one :0)

Sanna Lippert has done a brilliant video tutorial on typewriter background paper. I couldn't force myself to do a whole page but I did do a little bit and cut it into arrows :0)

June CKC Kit

I love the beginning of the month....all the new sketches in abundance and......the kit we are to counterfeit!!

This month there were 2 main kits and 2 add ons from Scraptastic Kit Club to choose from.

I went for one of the add ons as I still have 3 CKC kits in bags....and they are looking mighty full!

Here is my forgery:

I didn't bother with coloured card stock as you know me, it's white all the way! LOL I am also really into 6 x 6 pads at the moment so with the exception of the grey Echo Park paper everything else is mini version :0)

 I didn't have any vellum so went with some an old transparency sheet. Heidi Swapp alphas and super, super ancient Crate Paper chipboard!

I cut the speech bubbles on the Silhouette and stamped in Cloud White on black (nice chalkboard effect)and Archival Inks on white.

MME brads and stickers, Pink Pislee die cuts and good old washi tape complete this month's collection.

My intention is to have this as the backbone kit and add in bits and bobs from my old kits....otherwise I fear that I will be hoarding kits!!

Off to start playing now :0)
