CKC Challenge #2 'Paint'

Hello,

challenge number 2 is right up my street - get those paints out! Rather than do what I always do ......mist, splodge, splat...I thought I would use the brayer that has been sitting in it's box for a while. I am using a little creative leeway and although there is paint on my layout it is primarily inks.....is this cheating????

The photo is of me and my girls on Mothers Day and is one of those pictures that has captured the mood of the moment :0)

So, I brayered the rainbow(ish) and then flicked water to give it a more weathered look. The paper really buckled and creased so I cut it down and stitched it to another piece of white cardstock. I have used some of my alpha sheet as one of the layers (thanks Chantal for that genius idea!)  Black paint has then been flicked and blobbed - technical, I know!!

The clouds and 'sun'  were cut on the Cricut. The tag is from a teeny Basic Grey pad

The 'raindrops' are from Papermania. finally I doodled a few little hearts just to finish it off :0)
Thanks for popping in,

Ali x

  1. Oh I love the rainbow-ish-ness of this layout, and how brilliant to both distress it with water and flick it with black. Superbly done!

  2. So pretty! And as long as there is paint somewhere, I don't think its cheating at all! I really love what you've done here - it really captures the mood of the pictures wonderfully!

  3. Well I adore what you've done with the inks and paint splats (my technical term!) and the alpha layer and all the other elements to see on this great page. The b&w photo is the perfect idea against the colour. Love it.
Oh, and yes, you should know about LOAD! Run by Lain Ehmann from LayoutADay.Com. There's one in February and May, then a private ScrapHappy members only one in October. There's always a theme foe the month and the outside the box idea was so great! It's the most amazing rush of a month with one of the best Scrapbooking communities out there. I love it!
